Hi, Welcome to my Portfolio

I am a retired amateur photographer who is learning to edit images in Adobe Photoshop. I began learning Photoshop in April 2020 by watching hundreds of YouTube videos and purchasing courses from professional photographers. This program has certainly been a challenge to learn, but I have loved every minute of the process and I think I have made great progress using this program. In the beginning I used my iPhone 12 Pro as my camera with a tripod. I used the Moment Wide Angle (18mm) and Telephoto (58mm) lenses. I also had a couple of ND filters and a polarizing filter that help fill in some of the disadvantages of using an iPhone as my camera. After about a year, I decided the iPhone was limiting what I wanted to do, so I purchased a Sony full frame mirrorless camera and some lenses. This camera had a learning curve far beyond the old 35 mm film cameras I used to take photos in my younger years. It's been a challenge to learn the settings and quickly be able to change them for the correct exposures. I think I'm getting the hang of this camera and I'm now excited to adventure out and start improving my photography. I live in an area that is filled with beautiful gorges and waterfalls, so many of my photos are taken in these areas. I hope there will be improvements in my photography and editing skills over time. I will continue to add photos to my website as I process them. I added a category (iPhone Images) for some of my favorite images I took with my iPhone. I still think the iPhone does a great job at what it does and I still use it sometimes when I'm out walking trails. Thank you for stopping by. You can contact me at dmc8@cornell.edu
